warning inspired by ‘incredible’ memory and Whites man’s exit

A Millwall player has issued a warning to Leeds United, citing the Whites man’s departure and a “wonderful” Elland Road memories as inspiration. On Sunday, rejuvenated Millwall will go to Elland Road for a Championship match that, should Leeds win by two goals, would put Daniel Farke’s winning Whites atop the standings.

Runner-up Leeds has not lost at home this season, and George Saville, a midfielder for Millwall and a member of the Northern Ireland national team, has heaped praise on the Whites, ranking a trip to Elland Road among the greatest. But Saville has also expressed optimism about his team’s chances as he looks to win again at LS11. The midfield player was a member of the Lions team that shocked Thomas Christiansen’s Whites in January 2018 by winning 4-3. Liam Cooper, the Whites captain, caught Saville with a costly late lunge, sending the Lions midfielder off the field. Saville was prominently involved in the game. In an attempt to cause another upset for the Whites on Sunday, the midfielder describes the victory as “incredible” and vows that his squad will be “difficult” under newly reinstated manager Neil Harris, who was also in the dugout in 2018.
Under Harris, Millwall had won 10 of their previous twelve games, including a 2-1 victory over Southampton, United’s opponents for promotion, which Saville is especially encouraged by.
“For the football club, Leeds is a big game,” Saville stated. I’ve always appreciated being a part of this fixture, especially when I was playing for Millwall. There aren’t many better locations to go play football than Leeds away at Elland Road, given their current situation. “We’ve demonstrated how challenging it is to play against us right now. It’s unlikely that many teams will want to play us at this time. We put in a lot of effort and are really difficult to defeat. They have a tough schedule, but the Southampton match gives us hope that we can go out and defeat the best clubs. On Sunday, we’ll go out and try to achieve a result by being difficult.

Speaking back to the thrilling seven-goal match from January 2018, Saville said, “That day was incredible.” We were probably up 2-0 when I sent off their center-half. Next They were up 3-2 within fifteen minutes of the second half, and you could hear the cheers. And it was simply amazing to spin it around again. It was an amazing day, and that game will definitely stick in my memories for a long time.
“We had not won away from home during the entire season, but we went there and got a result that spurred us on to win five or six straight games. There, fearlessly and with nothing to lose, we were playing. This was our inaugural year in the Championship and we were striving for success. But things have changed a little since then because of our current circumstances. “A lot of things have transpired this year, but our staff is full with people with good experience. We have players who have experienced it before, as well as a manager who has. It’s a challenge worth rising to.
