ILLAN VOTED BOOST PLAYER OF THE MATCH AGAINST STOKE

As Leeds United defeated Stoke City 1-0 at Elland Road on Tuesday, goalkeeper Illan Meslier recorded his sixteenth clean sheet of the year.
The Frenchman’s performance against the Potters was so good that 47% of Leeds supporters chose him as Player of the Match. Meslier had another strong showing for the Whites against Stoke, giving up only three goals in ten league games since the start of the year.

Dan James scored the game’s lone goal in the first half, and Stoke fought valiantly to tie the score throughout, forcing Meslier into six vital stops.
The goalkeeper, who played the entire ninety minutes, had to repel chances from Campbell and Hoever before blocking an effort from Lewis Baker, a former Leeds midfielder, from thirty yards out. The club’s Player of the Match award was decided by a vote of Leeds supporters, with Meslier emerging victorious with 47 percent. Goalie Dan James came in second with 31%, followed by Ethan Ampadu (6%) and Joe Rodon (6%) in third and fourth place, respectively.
