Rams Rookie Announces Engagement to Longtime Girlfriend

For rookie running back Blake Corum of the Los Angeles Rams, it’s still a big year. As the year got underway, Corum and the Michigan Wolverines prevailed in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, securing the ultimate trophy for his storied collegiate career and taking home the Offensive MVP honor.

A few months later, Corum was taken by the Rams with the 83rd overall pick in the NFL draft. Since then, he has been working with the Rams during the summer, taking part in obligatory minicamp and OTAs.

Corum recently revealed another significant life milestone: his engagement to Makiah Shipp, his longtime girlfriend and fiancé. This past weekend was no exception. Corum seems to be going all out for the engagement; she brought in a sign that reads “Marry Me” along with dozens of flowers.
Both Corum and Shipp completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, while Shipp has already obtained a bachelor’s and master’s degree, having completed her master’s at Arizona State. She has also written children’s books, including “Makiah’s Show and Tell.” According to her LinkedIn, she has also been active in the community, assisting Detroit high school students in obtaining college scholarships.

Corum, meanwhile, joins the NFL following four years at Michigan, where he was named Big Ten Most Valuable Player, unanimous All-American, and the Big Ten Running Back of the Year twice. In Corum’s final season, the Wolverines went unbeaten and he ran for 1,245 yards and 27 touchdowns. He is now trying to get a big impact in the Rams’ backfield.
