Heyman named Cora the third-best manager in the American League when he presented the MLB midseason awards on Friday. “No one thinks he’ll be back in Boston,” he added in addition.
With one of his best seasons as manager in Boston, Cora has managed to get an injury-plagued team with low expectations back into the American League playoff picture.
The San Diego Padres defeated Boston 9-2 on Friday, but the team is still 43-38 overall and one game behind the Kansas City Royals for the last wildcard slot.
Though nothing is confirmed, Cora’s future remains uncertain, but if he leaves the Red Sox, there will probably be other suitors. especially in light of the job he completed in 2024.
Ken Rosenthal claims that if the Boston Red Sox elect to bench Aaron Boone, they may want to acquire Cora. The Yankees are Boston’s biggest rival. Rosenthal also mentioned the Dodgers as a team to watch, which would bring Cora and Mookie Betts back to Los Angeles.
