Exhibit 10 contract signed by former UNC basketball big Armando Bacot with the Utah Jazz

Former University of North Carolina basketball center Armando Bacot will sign a professional contract with the Utah Jazz following one of the most dominant five-year campaigns in NCAA history.

After going undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft, six-foot-ten big man Bacot is reportedly signing with the Jazz. Bacot will reportedly sign an Exhibit 10 contract, according to The Athletic. This information was released just hours after the 2024 NBA draft came to an end.

NBA teams can opt to extend the one-year minimum salary contract that players receive with the Exhibit 10 contract into a two-way agreement, but only if they do so prior to the start of the regular season. Bacot may therefore be able to play for the Jazz’s G League affiliate, the Salt Lake City Stars, and maybe be called up for NBA contests.

After spending the last two seasons with the Jazz, former Tar Heel Walker Kessler, who holds the record for most rebounds in North Carolina, will join him in Utah.

Bacot and Harrison Ingram, the former forward for UNC, are the only two players from UNC’s 2023–24 basketball season selected by an NBA team. The San Antonio Spurs chose Ingram with the 48th overall choice in the second round on Thursday.

Bacot joins Kyle Filipowski, a former Duke center selected by the Jazz with the 32nd overall pick on Thursday.

Former Tar Heel striker Cormac Ryan is still a free agent after being passed over in the draft; he should be able to find a home shortly, as Ingram and Bacot get ready for the next phase of their careers.
