Eight schools have been selected by one of the best center prospects in the 2025 class; John Calipari and Arkansas made the cut. Malachi Moreno, a 4-star center, announced his final eight schools on Monday afternoon. For Moreno, the Razorbacks were joined by Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisville, North Carolina, Notre Dame, and Ohio State.

At 6-11, 230 pounds, Moreno is presently ranked by 247Sports as the top prospect in the state of Kentucky, the third-best center overall, and the 26th-best player in the 2025 class. Moreno is ranked as the No. 2 center in the nation and the No. 28 overall prospect, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Moreno, a top prospect for Calipari and the Razorbacks, has spent the summer honing his craft on the minor league level. He was a member of the NBA Players Association Top 100 Camp in Orlando, as well as the adidas 3SSB circuit.

During the NBPA Camp, Moreno dominated, guiding his side to an 8-0 record and victory in the championship match. He scored 20 points or more in three different games, averaging 17.7 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. The native of Georgetown, Kentucky, most recently assisted in leading Great Crossing High School to a runner-up position in the KABC Titans Shootout.

Like the other seven colleges on Moreno’s list, the Razorbacks are hoping to get a visit from the No. 3 overall center soon. In a recent interview with Cardinal Authority’s Michael McCammon, Moreno disclosed that he does not currently have any visits planned.

“I haven’t set any visits yet, but I’m looking forward to it,” added Moreno. “We’ll just see what happens.”

Thus far this summer, just one player from the 2025 class has visited Calipari and Arkansas. In May of last year, 5-star point guard Darius Acuff Jr. paid a visit to Fayetteville. Meleek Thomas, another five-star guard, is scheduled to start his official visit tomorrow, June 25, and be on campus through the 27th.
