Ahead of Wimbledon next month, Coco Gauff disclosed that she is no longer single and shared details of her summer plans with her enigmatic partner.

Over the next few months, the 20-year-old American, who has never advanced past the fourth round on grass, intends to keep herself occupied by engaging in a pastime she used to enjoy with her special someone.

Gauff stated at her media day at the German Open in Berlin last week, “It started because I loved reading as a kid and I kind of lost it when I got older.”

My first objective was to read 12 books, one every month. Then, my boyfriend has this habit of reading the number of books that correspond to the year that we are in—that is, 24 in 2024, 23 in 2023.

Naturally, Gauff saw her man’s daily activities as a challenge she required. After all, her sole major title is the US Open in 2023.

“I got really competitive and doubled my goal to match his when he said he was going to read 24. I like trying to finish faster than him,” she said. ‘I’m winning now since I’m two books ahead.’

Books like Taylor Jenkins Reid’s “Daisy Jones & the Six,” Michelle Alexander’s “The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in th

e Age of Colorblindness,” Haruki Murakami’s “After Dark,” and Viola Davis’ autobiography “Finding Me” are among the titles on Gauff’s reading list.

The only details about Gauff’s lover that are known are that he goes by Jalen and that he resides in Atlanta.

Gauff stated to Time magazine in April that she and Jalen had been dating for about a year.

One extremely significant individual who is close to Jalen’s girlfriend—her mother Candi—has been impressed.

Candi stated to Time, “My mom always said, if they’re bad in school, they’re probably bad adults.” He’s always been a kind, intelligent child.

However, Gauff still resides with her parents at their Florida home and has no immediate plans to move in with her partner.

“I don’t have a timeline on that,” the #2 player in the world acknowledged. “I always say it will happen sometime in my 20s.”
