Caitlin Clark reveals his painful welcome W moment.

Caitlin Clark reveals his painful welcome W moment.

Caitlin Clark makes WNBA debut with Fever at exhibition game against Wings

Caitlin Clark claims that on June 2, while the Indiana Fever was playing the New York Liberty in Brooklyn, she tore her eardrum.

Before the Fever’s game against the Atlanta Dream on June 21, she spoke with reporters about it on Friday. Before the game, Clark was asked if her rookie season had included any “welcome to the W” moments.

She said, “To be honest, I’ve been popped on a few screens.” “On a hard screen, I actually tore my eardrum when we were in New York.” Thus, that would be my choice if I had to choose one at this time. However, I just didn’t hear them, so it’s mostly my fault—they seem like fantastic screens.

Clark’s injury prevented her from missing any games. The youngster went back to the locker room in the fourth quarter after the Liberty easily won that one, but she returned for the Fever’s subsequent game against Washington. In the 85-83 victory against the Mystics, she finished with 30 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals.

Caitlin Clark has been hard-hit by the Liberty twice with intimidating screens.

Three times already this year, the Fever and Liberty have faced off, twice at Barclays Center. Clark encountered hard screens throughout both of the New York home games, which went viral on social media.

The first occurred during the Liberty’s home opener on May 16 when she ran into Breanna Stewart, the current MVP.

The other was vs Jonquel Jones, the MVP for 2021. Although it doesn’t seem likely, we don’t know for sure if this is the one that broke Clark’s eardrum.

Caitlin Clark Olympic decision is USA Basketball's lost opportunity

The natural reaction of the fan base would be to point fingers at Clark’s teammates for failing to point out the screens, but bear in mind that the Liberty packed the 17,000-seat Barclays Center for both of their games against the Fever. Those fans were really noisy. Every game.
