Throughout the course of 17 regular season games, the 21-year-old averaged just 7.6 minutes per game. In their championship run, he played a total of 22 postseason minutes. He was not given much of an opportunity by the Celtics to establish himself, so he had to choose another choice.
At $4.0 million, Springer is about to enter the last year of his deal. Is Boston attempting to deal him? He is earning a little bit more than the minimum, and the Celtics are not allowed to keep any money they win from trades.
