Stay true to yourself – Steve Cooper not wavering over his philosophy | The Independent

Since Enzo Maresca left to join Chelsea, the Foxes have been without a manager.

Steve Cooper, the former manager of Nottingham Forest, is in advanced talks to take over at Leicester.

Although Cooper hasn’t had a job since leaving Forest in December, the PA news agency has learned that he is a contender to replace Enzo Maresca at King Power Stadium.

Following Mauricio Pochettino’s exit from the London club at the end of the season, Maresca left the Foxes after leading the team to promotion to the Premier League to assume leadership at Chelsea.

After an emotional departure at the City Ground, where he led Forest back to the Premier League for the first time in 23 years and kept them there, Cooper has been waiting to return to work.

Leicester’s job will not be easy; in addition to the potential for a points deduction looming large over them, they may need to offload players in the summer in order to meet Premier League profit and sustainability regulations.
