DEERFIELD, Il. On June 16, the Chicago Sky faced off against one of their most competitive opponents of the 2024 WNBA season. Chicago’s fourth consecutive loss came against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever, 91-83. Naturally, because of their antagonism, Angel Reese and Clark were the focus of attention. After Chicago’s practice on Wednesday, sixth-year guard Marina Mabrey revealed some shocking information about the developing chaos caused by the two stars’ fan feuds.

With the entrance of Reese and Clark, Mabrey noticed a growing tension between Fever supporters and Sky fans, but she views the increased interaction favorably.

All of the supporters are dear to us. And it’s okay if they want to start a new rivalry because it will attract more attention and money, according to Mabrey.

Moreover, Mabrey’s response to the question of what she thought of the range of fan reactions to the rivalry was conflicting.

There are a lot of individuals speaking. I find myself asking “what” from time to time. Sometimes I comment like, “That’s a neat perspective.” Something that perhaps I overlooked or failed to consider. After that, [the fans] are only enjoying themselves.

Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese are constantly being criticized. Even though the two celebrities face a lot of criticism, followers still like and support them. For example, fans on X appreciated Reese’s explanation when she talked about the players she models her game after.

Love that she’s still learning the game, an X user commented.

Another called him a “great young ambassador for the league.”

Others, though, continued to be critical. Reese’s reference to players with diverse skill sets, according to one admirer, is hypocritical given that she only “gets layups and rebounds.”

Marina Mabrey stressed the value of maintaining Chicago’s inner team circle’s support throughout it all.
