Former Rams WR Pharoh Cooper announces retirement | Sporting News

Cooper, then just 29 years old, was selected by the Rams in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft (No. 117 overall). He then joined the Rams as a return specialist after being a receiver, and in 2017 he was selected to the All-Pro team in the latter capacity. Cooper later had stints with the Arizona Cardinals, Cincinnati Bengals, Carolina Panthers, Jacksonville Jaguars, and New York Giants before being released by the Rams at the end of the 2018 season.

Cooper, a former standout player at the University of South Carolina, had not played for an NFL team since joining Arizona for five games during the 2022 campaign. He is now the most recent former Rams All-Pro to formally announce the end of his career this offseason.

In 2024, who are the top five fantasy players for the Rams?

With this past week’s official end to their OTAs, the Los Angeles Rams are getting ready for the next phase of the offseason. Since there isn’t much happening as summer break approaches and there isn’t much to report from the pad-less practices, it would be foolish to wait and discuss Fantasy Football. My top five Rams to target in this draft are as follows:

Williams, who only started 11 games as a sophomore, came into his own last season, finishing third in rushing yards. According to fantasypros.com, he is presently rated as the RB8. However, he has lagged behind running backs like Saquon Barkley, Travis Etienne Jr., and Jahmyr Gibbs, which might force him into the second round in some leagues. Don’t let the smoke deceive you, though; after Les Snead strengthened the already strong offensive line for the 2024 campaign, Williams—one of the best running backs in football—may even lead the league in rushing yards this season. It’s a great deal to find Williams in the second round, but I wouldn’t be shocked to see his fantasy-stock will increase and be removed from the board much earlier than the regular season.

Is WR21, the current MVP of the Super Bowl, really not projected to be selected until the latter rounds of the draft? After sustaining numerous injuries over the previous two years, Kupp appears to be totally recovered this summer, according to all the sources. It will be intriguing to watch how opposing defenses handle the lethal combination with Nacua on the field taking up some of the attention. It might also provide Kupp with more opportunities than he has had since Brandin Cooks andHe was on the same field as Robert Woods. Kupp is possibly the greatest number two in the NFL and a great value in the middle rounds of this year’s fantasy draft if Nacua has indeed taken the #1 receiver job.

After a season that broke records, are we really that confident that Nacua has taken over as the Los Angeles Rams’ top wide receiver? Or is there still hope for Cooper Kupp and Matthew Stafford? Though only time will tell, it appears that Nacua is now the Rams’ preferred receiver. The breakout star is presently projected to be selected with the 11th pick in the draft and is labeled as WR8. He has the potential to shatter multiple NFL records this season and join the ranks of Justin Jefferson and CeeDee Lamb in the conversation for some time to come. Nacua can be viewed by some as a dangerous selection in the first round, especiallyif Marvin Harrison Jr., Davante Adams, and Brandon Aiyuk remain on the team. Not to add, Kupp is healthy this season and could try to reclaim his position as the top receiver. In some drafts, it wouldn’t surprise me if Nacua didn’t make it to the second round.

Because of their friendship from the Rich Eisen show, Blake Corum has received a fair amount of media attention. He could not help but smile in response to the query of whether he had been able to pick Stafford’s brain. “Let me just tell you about his IQ and ball placement. Amazing quarterback, Corum remarked. “It’s absurd where he puts the ball that nobody else can reach.” It’s completely absurd. He is outstanding.
