WWE news: Battleground 2024: Complete & Winning Lineup

This coming weekend, the “WWE NXT” brand’s second annual Battleground premium live event will make history at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Five of the matches on this card are around titles, for a total of six confirmed matches.
The most anticipated matchup pits TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace against reigning NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez against her as she goes through the “prohibited portal” to defend her crown. On the May 28 episode of “NXT,” a surprise announcement from “NXT” General Manager Ava naming Grace as Perez’s next opponent led to the eventual title match. Grace has the chance to win two titles at Battleground with just the NXT Women’s Championship at stake. Contrarily, Perez can end up losing everything.
The “NXT” brand will soon have a new secondary women’s championship in addition to the well-known NXT Women’s Championship. Six ladies will battle in a ladder match to become the first-ever NXT ladies’s North American Champion. In this historic championship match, Jaida Parker, Fallon Hen, Lash Legendley, Kelani Jordan, Sol Ruca, and Michin—the star of the main roster—will compete.
In the “NXT” women’s division, Lola Vice and Shayna Baszler, who were once paired together, are now in opposing positions following Vice’s betrayal of Baszler last month. Baszler had assisted Vice in her preparation for an Underground match against seasoned ring veteran Natalya in earlier weeks. Vice and Baszler will now make use of their shared MMA experience when they square off in an Underground match at Battleground.
At the event, Trick Williams, the NXT Champion, will also be competing against Ethan Page, a former star of AEW, to defend his championship. Similar to Grace, Page appeared unexpectedly on the May 28 episode of “NXT.” However, in Page’s case, he was focused on Trick Williams and wanted to face him in an NXT Championship bout. General Manager Ava reluctantly granted Page’s request and onboarded him as an official member of the “NXT” roster at the same time.
Two more championship fights, the first of which will see Oba Femi defend the NXT North American Championship against Joe Coffey and a freshly returned Wes Lee, round out the NXT Battleground card. Lastly, Axiom and Nathan Frazer will challenge Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson of The O.C. for the NXT Tag Team Championships.
