Nearly a month after the viral incident, Scottie Scheffler’s arrest before the second round of the 2024 PGA Championship is still one of the biggest stories in golf. Scheffler, who leads the Memorial Tournament this week after two rounds, spoke to the media on Tuesday following the announcement that the Louisville Metro Police Department was dropping the charges against him.
The LMPD revealed fresh bodycam footage from the encounter on Friday, over a month after his arrest and days after the charges were dismissed. Scheffler was heard being questioned by an officer about golf in one of the clips.
The officer turned to Scheffler and stated, “So I assume you’re pretty good if you’re playing in the PGA.”
“Yeah, I’m fine,” Scheffler answered.
“Is Tiger [Woods] as good as they say he is?” “He’s pretty dang good,” the World No. 1 said.
Scheffler finished last month’s PGA event in a tie for eighth place, despite the chaotic morning before his second round.
Only one week later
, he was runner-up at the Charles Schwab Challenge and leads The Memorial Tournament by three shots at the moment.

At the PGA Championship, Woods, on the other hand, finished his first two rounds at 7-over and missed the cut. Later this month, in Pinehurst, he hopes to make a comeback.
