Story ConnectionsANGELES Beth Wu has been appointed assistant coach by the USC women’s golf team, head coach Justin Silverstein announced on Friday, June 7.

“Beth Wu’s addition to our program for the upcoming season is a great blessing. About Wu, Silverstein remarked, “Beth embodies everything we are looking for when having someone join our program.” “Her vast playing resume and understanding of the benefits of playing collegiate golf in a major metropolitan city will make her an incredible asset to our talented student-athletes.”

“I want to express my gratitude to Paul Perrier, Justin Silverstein, and USC for this incredible chance. In order to give our student-athletes the greatest experience possible, I’m looking forward to working with the squad and our support staff as we continue our program’s long and successful history,” Wu stated. “Can’t wait to get back to LA!”

Wu joined the University of Florida women’s golf team before the 2022–2023 season, therefore she spent the last two years as an assistant coach. Wu assisted in leading the Gators to three straight team titles to start the autumn season in her most recent season with the squad. Florida placed seventh out of 12 participating teams in the NCAA East Lansing Regional at the end of the 2023–24 campaign.

Working with some of the greatest players in the nation, the second-year assistant coach helped Gators Annabell Fuller earn her first Golfweek All-American honor and lead her to her second and third All-SEC selections.

Wu worked on the Epson Tour over the preceding three years (2020–22) before beginning her coaching career. She had four top-10 results during her playing career, including two runner-up performances in the Donald Ross Classic and Garden City Charity Classic in 2021. In the same season, she placed eleventh on the Epson Tour money list. Wu participated in the Pine Needles U.S. Women’s Open in 2022.

Wu played four years for the UCLA women’s golf team from 2015 to 2019 before turning pro. During her senior year, she was selected as an Honorable Mention for the Pac-12 four times and received her second All-American selection. During her senior year, Wu won two collegiate races, including the PING/ASU Invitational.

She qualified for the semifinals of the 2015 U.S. Women’s Amateur and competed for Team USA at the 2016 Curtis Cup before signing with the Bruins.

Wu, who is originally from Diamond Bar, California, earned a degree in Asian American Studies from UCLA in 2019.

The Women of Troy won four team tournaments and four individual titles in 2023–2024. USC advanced to the NCAA Championship final location for the 26th consecutive season by winning the NCAA East Lansing Regional, giving the team an NCAA record 15 regional victories. The Trojans qualified for match play for the second time in a row after placing fourth in the stroke play round of the event. USC lost to Stanford, the eventual national champions, in the semifinals of the season. Amari Avery and Catherine Park, two WGCA All-Americans, led the Women of Troy during the year. Park was selected for the first team.and Avery was named an honorable mention recipient, making it to the list for the third time in her career.
