Breking: disappointing draft pick for kansas city…….

Why Haven't the Kansas City Chiefs Changed Their Name? | Vogue

In 2024, the Kansas City Chiefs and head coach Andy Reid will have the opportunity to contend for their fourth Super Bowl championship in five seasons and their third consecutive.

Reid is aiming for his third straight Super Bowl to extend the nearly unstoppable run since the team signed Patrick Mahomes as its main quarterback. It took Reid 21 seasons to win a Super Bowl. Reid is only the fourth coach in Super Bowl history to win five titles; if Reid wins a third, he will join Bill Belichick, Chuck Noll, Bill Walsh, and Joe Gibbs as the only head coaches to win three or more trophies.

In his 11 seasons with Kansas City, Reid has never had a losing campaign. Over the past ten years, he has had double-digit winning seasons every time. Reid has won two Super Bowls, four AFC Championships, eight consecutive AFC West titles, and six consecutive conference championship berths over that time. The Chiefs join the Buffalo Bills (1990–1993) and the New England Patriots (2014–2018) as the only teams in NFL history to win four Super Bowls in five seasons.

The Chiefs seem to be the team to beat in the NFL as long as Mahomes is starting quarterback, as Reid was given a contract extension in the offseason. Even yet, it’s been hard to keep the squad intact season after season, with so much money allocated to the best quarterback in the NFL and a big offseason defensive deal this summer to lock down Chris Jones. Nevertheless, Reid manages to win Super Bowls year after year.

Reid and Mahomes can’t take all the credit, though; Chiefs general manager Brett Veach has been tasked with perfectly filling in the gaps left by top players who the team has had to let go of. As it stands, this year’s team appears to be more talented than the one from last year, when Mahomes was compelled to rely on youngster Rashee Rice as his primary wide receiver and deliver the ball to Travis Kelce. Despite his significant contribution and improvement throughout the season, Rice’s position for 2024 is still unknown due to unresolved legal matters.

However, Veach proceeded to sign Hollywood Brown, a downfield danger with experience, and added the fastest wideout in the draft when he chose Texas’ Xavier Worthy in the first round. It will be difficult to stop the Kansas City attack if all three of those receivers can be on the field at once.

Bleacher Report feels that now that Mahomes has dependable targets, it’s time for the team to give a recent second-round wide receiver (WR) who hasn’t performed up to par some test runs.

Cut Ties With WR, Kansas City Chiefs Are Urged To Do Skyy Moore

With a possible ban coming, it is obvious that Rice’s situation needs to be monitored, but overall, the Chiefs have improved this position since Tyreek Hill left to join the Miami Dolphins. That being said, general manager Brett Veach and the Kansas City front office have not been happy with any candidate for Hill.

Furthermore, one of the least successful has been the direct successor.

On June 3, Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report said, “The Kansas City Chiefs drafted Western Michigan wideout Skyy Moore in the second round in 2022.” Moore has yet to surpass 250 receiving yards in a season, so it would be an understatement to suggest that he has been a disappointment thus far.

Davenport went on to argue that KC should “get what they can and move on” from Moore via trade. “[The newfound WR depth] affords Kansas City the opportunity to rid themselves of another mistake,” the writer reasoned, hinting Moore might fetch some sort of return compared to a lost cause like Kadarius Toney

Leaving Moore or Toney opens up one or two positions. Given Rice’s uncertain future, the Kansas City Chiefs might possibly recruit another veteran, like as Michael Thomas, in lieu of a departure.

It should be mentioned that before to the draft, Veach openly backed both Moore and Toney.

Back then, the Chiefs general manager stated, “Skyy has always been a mentally tough kid.” “He sustained the same knee problem last year. To some extent, then, it really just comes down to these individuals playing their position, remaining healthy, and producing when their number is called.
