Sad news: Little Rock star commits to the HOGS

At a ceremony held at the Keith Jackson Training Facility in Little Rock on Saturday, Little Rock Parkview athlete Quentin Murphy pledged to the University of Arkansas football program.

“I chose to stay home because I have a special connection with all the (Arkansas) coaches, especially Coach (Sam) Pittman,” Murphy stated. When I was in the tenth grade, he continued to battle for me because he believed in me. True love is that.”

Six-foot-one and 205 pounds, Murphy turned down scholarship offers from Georgia Tech, Syracuse, Louisville, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Oklahoma, Michigan State, and other schools in favor of the Razorbacks.

On April 15, Pittman’s birthday, he told him of his commitment.

“He felt giddy. I was happy to hear that he stated, ‘You made my day,'” Murphy remarked.

As a junior, Murphy played quarterback for Joe T. Robinson High School in Little Rock. He completed 61 of 136 passes for 892 yards and 13 touchdowns while also scoring 7 touchdowns on 85 rushes for 697 yards.

He moved for the spring semester to Little Rock Parkview, where he will play for the Patriots, the two-time defending Class 5A state champions, in the fall.

He is ranked as the No. 20 athlete in the class of 2025 by Rivals and is a 4-star recruit. Although he can play multiple positions due to his versatility, he stated that he is primarily focused on offense, specifically as wide receiver.

“They said I can play whatever, but I want to play wideout,” he stated.

The Hogs are receiving a very good prospect and individual, according to Parkview Coach Brad Bolding.

“We’re very excited about his commitment and being able to focus on having a great senior season,” Bolding stated. “Aside from being an amazing athlete, he is a wonderful young man and incredibly affable. In young men, I appreciate that.

Murphy stated that he will be in Fayetteville on June 7–9.

In the future, the Razorbacks intend to include a few of his Parkview colleagues on the commitment list. Parkview safety Omarion Robinson, 2025 class athletes Monterrio Elston and running back Cameron Settles, and 2026 linebacker Jakore Smith have all received scholarship offers from Arkansas.

Murphy is the ninth 2025 commitment from Arkansas.
