Unbelievable: coventry city top star insult coach and anounce departure…..

Kelly, a pillar of the Coventry City team for seven years, is leaving the team this summer.

The Sky Blues’ 34-year-old captain has been a pillar of support as they have advanced through the levels and into the Championship promotion battle. After 180 appearances, it was confirmed on their retained list that he is leaving.

It means he’ll have the opportunity to explore his options as a free agent, and some interest has already surfaced.

The Rotherham Advertiser reports that Rotherham United, a newcomer to League One, is among those who are eager to let go of Kelly, a Coventry City player. Kelly is also being pursued by two other “strong” third-tier teams, it is stated.

It remains to be seen if the Millers can lure the Scot in or if he goes elsewhere. The Scot is anticipated to make a decision by the end of this week over his future.

A shrewd signing of a free transfer
Few free agents can compare to Kelly in terms of leadership and expertise.

He has competed in all leagues in the English Football League (EFL). He started out in League One and League Two with Coventry City and came dangerously close to completing a spectacular ascent to the Premier League last summer, losing to Luton Town.

It appears that League One teams are eager to have him join their ranks as he now heads for fresh pastures.

He’ll make a big impact in whichever dressing room he ends up in very quickly. Kelly is a great asset both on and off the field thanks to his background, and he will be a great deal if he transfers for free.

occupied Millers
While it’s unclear if they will add Kelly, it’s certain that Rotherham United is moving quickly to get ready for a return to League One play.

Steve Evans has a reputation for dismantling teams and replacing players with his own after he arrives. It’s exactly what the Millers needed, and he’s done it without any delay at all.

After joining the ranks already, Jonson Clarke-Harris, Coventry City Sean Raggett, Joe Rafferty, Reece James, and Joe Powell appear to be showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

The amount of experience in the ranks has skyrocketed, and with those already signed and possibly Coventry City’s Kelly on the way in, Rotherham United should be well-prepared for a run for promotion.
