Report news: Jets top man Is Firmly Placed on Notice After “Surviving” 2023

Birthday Fumble: New York Jets Social Media 'Forgets' Robert Saleh? - Sports Illustrated New York Jets News, Analysis and More

Robert Saleh, the head coach of the New York Jets, is running out of time.

Alex Kay of Bleacher Report immediately highlighted Saleh in a story that listed every NFL head coach that is arguably in the hot seat going into 2024.

Saleh “survived” the 2023 campaign, according to Kay, but if he doesn’t deliver in 2024, things might rapidly return to “uncomfortable levels.”

“The New York Jets’ expectations weren’t met when they enticed Robert Saleh to leave his role as the defensive coordinator of the San Francisco 49ers in 2021,” Kay stated. “If Rodgers gets back to his old self and improves the quarterback position in a manner that only the future Hall of Famer can, the Jets should have a real shot at winning the Super Bowl. The receiving corps may rank among the deepest in the league in 2024 as the already strong attack saw significant improvement in the trenches. To become a top team, the Jets just need to continue playing well and staying healthy. Saleh’s stint as head coach might come to an end if they don’t succeed in either endeavor.

What Will It Take for Saleh to Resurrect in 2024?
In the previous 13 years, the green and white have only had one winning season (2015; 10-6).

With a projected 9-8 win-loss record for 2024, Gang Green will break that streak, according to ESPN’s Football Power Index.

But, neither Saleh’s job nor the jobs of anybody else in that building will be saved by a winning record alone. The Jets’ lack of postseason appearances is the more embarrassing drought they are currently going through. Since 2011, they have not attended the big dance.

New York is tied for the longest postseason drought amongst the four major sports in North America and has the longest active playoff drought in the NFL.

Saleh requires a winning record, to make the playoffs, and to win a playoff game in order to be considered genuinely safe. That would be sufficient for Saleh to not only maintain his position but also probably get the Jets to grant him another long-term deal.

Expectations are even higher when you have Aaron Rodgers. New York has expressed publicly that it hopes to be one of the select few teams who will be able to contend for a Super Bowl in 2024.

The Jets rank 13th in the NFL with 4.9% of the players’ odds of winning the Super Bowl, according to ESPN FPI stats. In the AFC conference, those odds rank seventh-best. The Jets’ chances of winning the Super Bowl are merely 1.9% according to the analytics.

Saleh Gets Excellent Ratings on a Special NFL HC Ranking
Where Saleh stands in the NFL’s top head coach rankings may be up for discussion. There doesn’t seem to be much disagreement, though, about Saleh’s status as one of the league’s most attractive head coaches.

After doing a “face scan” on each NFL head coach, Free Bets and Beauty Scanner determined that Saleh was the “sexiest.”

On social media, Ryan Dunleavy, an NFL reporter for the New York Post, stated, “His predicted age of 41 is younger than his actual age (45).”

Following the viral success of his offseason photo featuring Saleh in a golf shirt, Kyle Brandt of “Good Morning Football” last year named Saleh the “fittest” coach in the National Football League.
